About me

Who am i.

I am Toine Eetgerink, born in Hillegom in the Netherlands. I am a father of my amazing children and husband of my beautiful wife. I am born in 1972. I had my first computer at the age of 12 years. While my neighborhood friends had all a commodore 64. Tons of available for that Home PC. I had the Acorn Electron and not that many games where available so i started to type programs over from magazines at that time. Even started to make some nice graphics by my self with the powerful 32K of memory. After the age of 15/ 16 i did not do that much with computers anymore. School did not have computer lessons yet.

From 1996 i started to work in the IT. First started to work at the IBM Internal Helpdesk for German speaking countries. I learned a lot in a short time. Networking and Lotus Notes. Over the years i was certified In Lotus Notes/Domino as a LotusScript Developer and a System Administrator and worked as a consultant at multiple companies. I became over the years quite good, but i was a little different then most of my Lotus Notes colleagues. I liked programming as well as System Administration. For that time it was rare. Now its called DevOPS, can you imagine.
Worked in that time a lot with IBM AS/400 and Linux.

Over the years worked with Lotusscript, Java became available in Lotus Domino/Notes. That was amazing. you could do a lot more. But why then in Lotus notes, exactly . So i worked more and more with IBM WebSphere Application Server and IBM WebSphere Portal Server. Made some nice things and of-course the mix with Development and System Administration. Because i was working with AS/400 i knew Logical Partition (LPAR), Virtualization on IBM Systems.

VMware became more and more known at that period and from that period i loved the solutions of VMware.

I am currently working at ITQ in the Netherlands and have quite some certifications. I am not including these all in my page, else i need to keep on updating this page. A public profile of my Acclaim

One of my hobbies is snowboarding. After a few years a started again. Why did i stop ? Good question. I lived 4 years in Rwanda and there is NO snow. By the way, i met my wife in Rwanda and two children are born in Rwanda. Rwanda is beautiful country in the continent of Africa.
